Introduction to Norstar Modular and Compact ICS
Completion of this class will assist you in selling and maintaining the
Norstar Modular and Compact ICS Systems
This 2-day course is designed to enable telephone technicians to install, program and maintain the Norstar MICS and CICS systems, Norstar Remote Utilities. Call Pilot and Flash voicemail systems will be touched on briefly. Training is interactive with participants performing installation and programming functions on a live system. Information will be presented in both verbal and written form followed-up by testing.

- Identify and describe MICS and CICS components
- Install and perform initial configuration of the template
- Set-up accounts and privileges
- Configure hardware resources
- Configure trunks (analog and PRI)
- Configure T1/PRI parameters
- Program terminals and sets
- Program system features and functions
- Configure scheduling of Ringing, Routing and Restriction services
- Upgrading the MICS
- Trouble shooting and isolation of system faults
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of telephone installation and wiring
- Basic T1/PRI knowledge
- All software including MICS/CICS 6.1 and Norstar Remote Utilities (NRU-11) CDROM's
- CAT-5 Crossover cable
